The UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center project was a ground up 5-story hospital. The over 200,000 sf facility houses 72 inpatient beds that service two medical/surgical units, an intensive care unit, and an inpatient senior behavioral health unit. It also includes a state of the art radiology and women’s imaging department, an emergency department, six operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The campus also includes a 55,000 sf Medical Office Pavilion that houses physical and occupational therapy, the hospital dining hall, hospital administrative and business functions, medical education space and more than 24,00 sf for primary and specialty care clinics.
Hardrock's scope of work included both the Medical Center and the Medical Office building. This included auger case piles, pier caps, continuous and spread foundations, grade beams, elevator pits, CIP basement walls, pilasters, slab on grade, 10” thick concrete structural deck at tunnel, stair pan fill, and slabs on metal deck.
